PORTABLE CEILING LIFTS

Portable Ceiling Lifts Eliminate Risk of Injury for Both Patients and Caregivers

If you are a caregiver of an individual with a mobility limitation, patient transfer can be a challenging task. The repeated pulling of a patient from prone to sitting or the transfer from bed to wheelchair, for example, can put both caregivers and patients at risk of injury. Thankfully, a portable ceiling lift can help.

What is a Portable Ceiling Lift?

The ArjoHuntleigh portable ceiling lift is a device designed to assist caregivers in safely transferring patients with mobility limitations. It consists of a motorized lift unit that hangs from a freestanding, two-point spreader bar track system. The lift can be easily maneuvered to raise and move the patient from one location to another, such as from the bed to a wheelchair or from a wheelchair to the bathroom.

A portable ceiling lift provides a safe and efficient solution for patient transfer, reducing the risk of injury for both caregivers and patients.

How a Portable Ceiling Lift Works

A ceiling lift is typically mounted on a ceiling track system. This ArjoHuntleigh portable system, in contrast, provides the same benefits as a ceiling lift along with the advantage of being a portable and easy-to-install apparatus. The lift cassette is lightweight and is quickly and easily attached to a gantry or track, which is the space-conserving, portable frame. The track can be installed in bedrooms, bathrooms, or other areas where patient transfer is needed. The system is operated with a remote control.

To use, the caregiver positions the sling over the patient and attaches the sling securely. Next, the patient is lifted and moved safely to the desired position, such as a bed to a wheelchair.
