Gain Whole-Home Access with a Stairlift

One of the biggest hazard areas in our homes is the stairs. To avoid this risk, many individuals choose to remain on only one level of the home, leaving upper or lower levels unused. Those who attempt the stairs risk a life-endangering fall. Fortunately, a stairlift can help you regain access.

What is a Stairlift?

A stairlift is a motorized chair that carries an occupant safely up or down a set of stairs and is an ideal option to help individuals regain access to upper or lower areas of home in a safe, comfortable, and easy-to-use manner.

Stairlift Options

A stairlift installation offers a variety of options. You can install a stairlift indoors or outdoors. Your curved stairway can be fitted with a stairlift as easily as a straight stairwell. Additionally, we also offer stairlifts fitted for commercial use.

At Compass Mobility, we are an authorized BrunoⓇ dealer. Bruno® stairlifts are made in the USA and are ADA compliant.

How a Stairlift Works

Contrary to common belief, the stairlift does not install on the walls, but on the stair tread itself, eliminating the need for any structural home modifications. Further, because the lift is installed on the tread, you can easily remove the apparatus should you no longer have a need for it.

To use the stairlift, the seat of the device swivels for easy entry and exit and never requires the need to set foot on a stair tread. Stairlifts are battery-powered and work even during a power outage. Additionally, the device is designed to still permit passageway on the stairs by foot, and the seat of the stairlift can be folded away to allow for further space accommodations.
